The foundation of the body starts at the feet. Ensuring the body is correctly supported is key to improving comfort, increasing performance and reducing the risk of injury. However, approximately 75% of the population have some form of body misalignment without knowing. This might lead to issues later in life and Insoles can be one solution to help this!

Introducing Custom-Made Insoles.
Here at The Physio and Sports Injury Clinic in Rhos on Sea, we use Footbalance Technology to accurately analyse & measure your feet in 3D, to fabricate a medial grade insole to help keep your body supported. Remember no 2 feet are the same, which is why a custom option is best!

Our Footbalance podium here at The Physio and Sports Injury Clinic in Rhos on Sea. The device allows us to 3D scan, measure and mould a set of custom insoles for you.

THE 4-STEP PROCESS

Step 1: The Foot Scan.
Step onto the console to start the 3D scan of both feet.

Step 2: Foot Analysis.
Your 3D scan data will be analysed on screen, highlighting all the findings including your exact foot measurements and size. (You will also receive a copy of your scan report after by email). Insole recommendations will then be given based on the findings.

Step 3: Custom Insole Moulding.
If insoles are needed then the correct style and size is selected to fit your shoe and activity levels. They are then moulded to your feet.

Step 4: Fitting & adjustments.
Once the insoles has been made, adjustments can be added to make the insoles more comfortable or supportive.

Insole FAQ’s:

  • Insoles are a contoured device which when placed in a shoe can help alter both the feel and biomechanics of the foot/leg to move more effectively. They are removable and are made from an EVA plastic/foam complex to provide you with additional support for your feet.

  • Insoles do a number of things. As well as providing some shock absorption, insoles help distribute the weight of your body more effectively across each foot and up each leg. They don’t necessarily change the shape of the foot/arch (which is what most people think they do). Instead current research thinks they help deflect kinetic forces applied to the foot in order to support the rest of the body.

  • Yes - Custom insoles are often a far better choice for people with any lower limb issues. The reason being - retailers categorise everyone’s feet/arch heights into 3 set categories: Low, Medium and High arch, but no 2 feet are the same size/shape? It comes down to luck if an off the shelf pair will work for you, whereas with Custom you get a moulded insole which fits your foot exactly (no guess work).

  • Quite quickly! The 3D foot scan and moulding process takes less than 30mins and you can go home with a pair straight away (unlike solid plastic insoles from podiatrists - which take 4 weeks to be made).

  • It depends on how much you use your insoles and how well you look after them. On average most people get about 2-3 years from a pair (although this will be longer if 2 pairs are bought?) If symptoms change or return then that is a good inductor your insoles might need adjusting or replacing with a fresh pair.

  • If you are a new patient, then we would recommend booking an Initial Consultation first, to assess your injury thoroughly, to decide if custom insoles will help you or not.
